My husband and I are going camping in August and we trying to find a good tent. We want a dome tent for 6-8 people. It is actually going to be just my hubby, my 9 month old and myself, but I want the extra room (which our old 4 person tent doesn’t have). I am sick of all the packing back into the car the things that we can’t store in the tent. And with all the gear that a little baby needs I just don’t want to be stressing out tripping over gear. Does anyone have any suggestions? We’re wanting to spend between 0-0. Thanks!

For Christmas I am getting my boyfriend a tent, a portable stove, and some various camping gear. The tent will most likely be used in the woods (aka, not the beach) and with our luck, it usually rains.

My budget is 150, preferably 100 but I’m willing to spend 150 on the tent.

What is your recommendation? What to avoid? Where to buy the tent..I don’t mind buying online.

I’m read reviews on various websites and I just can’t decide. I know we don’t need much room but maybe he would like a great big tent. Would a big tent be ridiculous for just 2 people (aka: 6-8 person tent)?
(To clarify, 150 is JUST the tent budget)

I am new to camping, and I am shopping for a large family tent. I have chosen to get a tent which is about 25×15 ft, but the only way I can use it is to rent a group site at a particular national park to which I shall be going. Currently, the tent I plan to buy is either the Oberon 13-man or the Utah 10-man.

Worst case scenario, I could get smaller fall-back tents, which would probably be the Cougar Flats II 8-person tent. This tent happens to be small enough to fit on the tent pads at the national park in question, and I suspect that due to its popularity would be widely accepted at most parks, as well.

After considerable research, I feel that I shall be happy with any of these choices, but I would still prefer to get the larger tent without the hassle of park rangers chastising me for the size of the tent.

At any rate; opinions?

Thanks!

I need to find a replacement rain fly for my Ozark Trails 8×8 dome tent (I actually need 2 of them). I can’t find Ozark Trails on the web anywhere. I bought the tent from WalMart, but they don’t sell replacement parts that I’m aware of. I have other tents, so it’s not urgent, but I like to let friends use these but without a rainfly there’s no privacy for changing clothes; it gets cool at night. I’ve been using tarps, but would like to find rainflys if I can.

Looking for a budget family type tent for around about 6-8 people. I need one that is readily availiable online and is good value for money.
Any suggestions from experience?
Fairly good quality.
I want one that works- one that’s pretty sturdy and keeps out the rain ok

Been looking at a review on Coleman 8 Person Tent and it looks great. I am in the market to get an 8 person tent for a family gathering that is coming up later in the year and by the looks of the review the Coleman Tent ticks all the boxes. I was just wondering if there are any further review on it before I invest my money, the good and bad points would be great. I saw a few of these tents online and they are by far the best price so far.

I went camping with this cheap tent I bought a couple years ago and lets just say that trip was not exactly the driest ever. I need something nice that will keep me dry in rain storms and big enough to have a my friends camp with me. I’d like to keep it under 1000 dollars.
