Camp and Caravan sites are at an all time high and people are getting fussier when looking at not any old site but somewhere that will cater for their needs.

Different age groups will depend on if the camp and caravan sites are what they are after.  For instance if you are camping with your family you want somewhere that is child friendly and perhaps will cater for them riding bikes or have some other play equipment to entertain them.  Ideally having an indoor area for board games should the weather turn miserable.

Still on the young family you will need to keep in mind not only packing the camping gear but all of the paraphernalia such as favorite toys and bikes and if the kids are really small to save them getting upset in the car or asking “are we nearly there yet?” try to look for camp and caravan sites that are an easy day drive from home and doesn’t involve hours upon hours of driving.

Tips for the traveling family.

  • Keep the back pocket of the seat behind the driver free to stack coloring in books and easy to do puzzles
  • Have an iPod or similar with their favorite music
  • Collect a container with sections in it to either have beads and string or pictures that have been cut out to be glued into a picture

What I have found is that teenage campers don’t usually mind roughing it a little and are happy to have a camp and caravan sites that are near the beach or woods in remote places or will go to other sites that have other young people to link up with.  If they are an adventurous type they can really go anywhere with a tent that fits into a backpack.

Tips for Teenagers

  • I know it sounds daggy but teenagers after the initial fun of arriving somewhere and in the quiet of the night love it when a game of cards is on.  This can either played by themselves or heaven to bid play with the oldies!
  • Good old fashion talking to them around the camp or they may not see this as fun and look for companionship their own age

Today more than ever the baby boomers are on the move and looking for camping and caravan sites that are comfy to extremely luxurious if they are caravanning expect them to have all the modern cons and everything that opens and closes.  They are under no schedule so they can decide to stay somewhere for a few days to a couple of months if they really like somewhere.  The caravan to them is fantastic and is usually able to go off road if they see a pretty spot that they would like to explore rather than stay at crowded family parks.

Quiet a number of the baby boomers are spending the kid’s inheritance and having a ball while they kick up their heels and meet other like-minded boomers.  Usually gathering at dusk to watch the sun goes down by themselves or to meet others on their journey over a glass of wine.
